Please join the CORDERO KIDS in raising funds to benefit youth in
EAST CHICAGO, IN!
MISSON: To start an annual tradition of raising funds and donating books to EC youth in an effort to promote STEM and Literacy. This year we will start with delivering books to Pre-K students between the ages of 3-5 and hopefully expand our reach to other grade levels and ages and we raise enough funding to do so.
We would like to ask our Friends and Family to consider making a donation today to support the CORDERO KIDS "Cat in the Hat" Book Drive Fundraiser in partnership with ATHLETES FOR CHARITY. Our goal is to raise $2500 to help purchase 500 Cat in the Hat books to deliver to Pre-K students in East Chicago on Dr. Seuss Day!!
No donation is too small. A $5 donation will place a brand new Cat in the Hat book into the hand of an East Chicago child between the ages of 3-5 years old.
Your donation is fully tax-deductible.
WHY? The purpose of this initiative is to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) + Literacy. STEM literacy relates to a student’s ability to understand and apply concepts from science, technology, engineering and mathematics in order to solve complex problems. The STEM industry is one of the fastest growing job markets in the U.S. and our goal is to prepare and empower the youth of NWI to meet this demand.
Scientific literacy is the ability to use knowledge in the sciences to understand the natural world.
Technological literacy is the ability to use new technologies to express ideas, understand how technologies are developed and analyze how they affect us.
Engineering literacy is the ability to put scientific and mathematical principles to practical use.
Mathematical literacy is the ability to analyze and communicate ideas effectively by posing, formulating, solving and interpreting solutions to mathematical problems.
